AS you can see, the Enterprise in her various guises. I finally managed to take some photos of my collection, but has it taken some time to get them on this blog!!

I tried to get them all to the large size. As you can see I failed!

I really must learn a bit more about blogging!!

Onwards and upwards my friends. Feel free to leave any comments. If I get something wrong I would appreciate being corrected. Thanks.

Current collection

It's been a little longer than I thought before the second post on this blog!

My collection expanded somewhat and I had to speak ever so nicely to my darling lady wife in order to obtain a second display cabinet. The dear that she is she agreed but this is the last one!

As you may see from the photos below I have had to add a few stands in order to accomodate the collection.

Photos below for anyone who may be interested. My camera isn't the most expensive in the world so sorry about the quality. I did take some smaller group shots but they didn't turn out too well. Too much flashlight!

My intention is to get some better individual shots and caption them as I think that would then make them available via the search facility on this blog. I am still learning so if it doesn't work then forgive me please!

Welcome to my Micro Machine collection. This collection is only of the Galoob series.

For some time now I have wanted to collect and display Science Fiction related models. Most are simply too big and there is only limited space. I came across the Galoob series by luck, just browsing the internet. Once I had seen the first few in my sticky mitts I was hooked. Just what I was after. The rest, as they say, is history.

The photos above were taken a short time ago. The Star Wars collection has increased in size somewhat so I have had to change the layout in the cabinet. Should be able to take some more photos and publish over the next couple of weeks. I am looking to get another display cabinet (the wife has agreed!) as there are far more Star Wars models than I first thought. I intend to separate the Action Fleet models and display them on a different shelf to the smaller Star Wars series.

One of the problems with starting a collection like this, way after the models have been discontinued, is working out what the model is a model of! I intend to photograph each one and publish in some sort of order. Each model pictured will have a name, I believe the name to be correct but am happy to be corrected if I get it wrong!

I am fairly sure that the Star Trek, Babylon 5 and Alien names are correct, as are the majority of the Star Wars ones. However getting loose models from e-bay does raise some identification issues! An example being when I bought what I thought was HMS Bounty for the Star Trek collection only to discover later that it was just a different War Bird! The chap I bought it from was a good source and a honest chap so I didn't like to point out his error. Got the genuine HMS Bounty later.

I must thank the various on-line sites that I have used for identification purposes and, of course, the Star Wars and Star Trek encyclopedias along with the Star Wars Character encyclopedia.

Please feel free to comment, especially if you know I have misnamed a model.

The collection is growing all the time so there will be changes to the display layout. Part of the fun of collecting. I hope to publish changes as they happen!
